  • Welcome of the 10 years of 2002 Tbirds!

The idea is to make a pool of the 10 years 2002 Tbird owners about their millage. Most of the Tbirs ownners will store their cars during the winter.
So, what will be your millage that you are expecting for your 2002 in spring 2012 before to use it for the year to come?

    Thanks,
    Alain

Amadeus is within 1200 miles of 100k. The oil change when that event happens will include a new set of Michelins and touching the brakes for the first time.

Still in love with that ride, after all these years.

The brakes are still holding up very well on my car too! Changed alot over the years from all eight COPS, clockspring, fuel pump, thermostat, 3 sets of Michelins, battery etc.. I still like to wash/baby it every week and admire the great lines-especially the 3/4 rear view.

Alain, I think you'll find that more than half of these cars are not stored for the winter due to weather in southern states as more than half were probably sold to people in Calif., Texas, and Florida and some of the other southern states such as AZ, Georgia, NC, and SC. Then there are the states in between the north and the south that generally have lots of decent days during the winter.

As for mileage, we average almost 12,000/year on ours.

Re: Welcome of the 10 years of 2002 Tbirds!

Dot, you are right. If I remember, the Eastern coast in USA got more snow compare to Quebec in Canada last winter. It is rare to see that. It happened again last weekend where we got no snow here in Montréal. Maybe, it is an indication of the climate change that will take place in the following years.

Anyway, the purpose of this poll is to predict your millage in the next spring in general knowing that all of these vehicles will be on the road in North America where the weather
will be appropriate to use them whatever you are living, North or South.

            Thanks,
            Alain

Charlie, maybe another poll will be useful to know of many months per year the Tbird owners are using their car. As far as I know, in Canada, no one is using his Tbird during the winter because of the salt, etc. on the road. I am assuming that it is the same for the states in North, Vermont ,Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey and so one. One thing as I know, is the fact that all of the Tbird owners will be on the road next spring everywhere in North America.

              Thanks,
              Alain

I'm certain you'll find a number of us in Canada drive their Birds 12 months a year and mine will turn 100,000 km. this winter.

At 13,300 miles I have just another 1,700 miles until I'm due for the first air filter & fuel filter change on my 2002. Oil & filter has been changed about 15 times in 10 years.

For those in Canada voting, the poll is in milles miles not in Kilometers. If it is the case, you should multiply by 5/8.

For the first 3 to 4 years mine was an everyday driver. In the freezing rain and snow up in Pa. Now it sits in the garage down here in Fla. most of the time but I'm probably going to hit 86,000 to 88,000 in miles this coming year.
