    John -

The underneath is hollow with some ridges to provide structural support.

The part right behind the seats/headrests is vertical - no waterfall between the seats. You can kind of see in the side shot.

Here's a link to the price page for the model John posted. And below is a bigger picture of it. I like this one too, although all of them look nice (tough choice). Since the one John posted is on LA PHIL's site, there may be a discount for TBN members; worth asking Phil about.

Mike....thank you very much for pointing that out for me. I like that theres a vertical piece coming down there behind the head rests. I would put something there in both spots.
Hmmmmmm......I know I said to myself that I was gonna wait until spring but there is a spot in my office that would gladly accept a delivery of that torneau AND my darling wife would not have to see it. ( I am so bad )

I really like the roadster style best, but I don't think any of them are practicle for me. I like being able to raise the top quickly if it rains. I don't usually even put the soft boot on.

I really like them all, this is going to be a very tough decision to make this spring. The vote counts are pretty even between all types. Which ever one I decide on, has to fit in the trunk, right now I'm leaning toward the rounder version of luvbirds creation.

                    Dennis,
I might just take you up on that offer! I'd like to see some pictures of it from the front and, how it fits behind the seats. Did you leave it all blue or, did you trim or paint the section behind the seats. With that top, do you have to place some protection under the top so it doesn't scratch the car? It seems to sit on top instead of under like luvbirds version. I think I would be afraid to have the top manufacturer paint the top, there are to many variations in color and, I want it to match exactly. I've already started my search for a good paint shop.

                        Re: Poll: Hard Tonneau Styles

I had them paint it, It matches pretty well. I have not taken any pictures as I am a terrible photographer. I will see if I can get some this week end if the weather is nice.It is all Blue. I just installed it and did place a towel across the fabric top from fear of rubbing. I did not notice any problems. It does sit on top like the hard top does, however it does come with some foam that should protect the body. I did not think it was wide enough ( the foam) so I am going to purchase a wider version at Home Depot. They took it to a professional paint shop and I think they did as good as any other shop.

And yes I love it. It took me a while to get it installed simply do to priorities. It took about 30 mins to install and you do have to drill a couple holes for the clasp. I needed it last weekend for a neighbor in the homecoming parade.

                            Jim,
I really...like the look of your rounded version of Garys cover and am just about convinced that is what I'm going to order. Can you post some photos from the front showing what it looks like between the seats. Did you paint yours all red or, paint the part behind the seats black to match the interior? I can't wait to have mine for next cruisn season!

                            Dennis,
Thanks for all the info on your top, its interesting to see and hear about all the different types. I'll be anxious to see your photos no matter how good they are. Hope to see them at an event next year.

Someone here (or perhaps the prior site) bought a 2 piece flat one and it included a storage rack that went into the trunk cubby area (after removing the original cubby). I don't remember the member or supplier. That was intriguing idea though.

The supplier was kustomotive2000. The company is no longer in business and I believe my 2 piece flat tonneau in individual vinyl bags was the last one delivered. To make more room in the trunk when storing them I removed the cubby.
