I realize this post is quite old (#58)... Does anyone know if this style is still available? And was it from LUVBIRD (Gary Kimmell) ? The post says LUVBIRDS, but it looks like Liz joined after this post was made.
Do you know the difference between education and experience?
Education is when you read the fine print; experience is what you get when you don't.
It looks like the concept car in 2001 had the lower, rounded hard tonneau, with wider headrests. Some of y'all might think about modifying the headrests for a better appearance ...
I was lookin' thru Thunderbird Concepts webpage? Their tonneau is now priced at $ 1,995.00!! It used to be priced somewhere around $1000.00 or something close to that. I wonder why he jacked up his price so much? I have a feeling Aaron made a killing on this particular mod. When I went to order my tonneau, I called them and there was a waiting period of up to 10 weeks.

I bought the tonneau cover from powersport. It scratched and rubbed the rear deck of the car, I got rid of it on ebay at a big lose, paid over 2,000 with shipping sold for 600.00. Had car repainted and swore I would only use cover that came with car. I then found Gary Kimmel's company and bought one from him, the cover sits under the rear rim not on top like the others. when i told my wife what i paid for gary's cover she looked at me and asked why i didn't buy garys to begin with. she said it looks 100% better.

My consern with Gary Kimmels top is weather it will abraid the rag top from direct contact with it. Is there any examples of this being an issue?
I have used Gary's tonneau for 3 summers. I have driven at least 1000 miles each year with it installed. There is no indication of unusual wear. Just be sure to install it as shown in the video furnished with the tonneau.

i also have Garys tonneau cover (retro style) he says to use towels between the top and the covers, i use the storage covers Gary supplies to keep the tops in when not in use, that way i have them on hand when i'm ready to take them off.
