    Re: T-bird owner demographics

    Hi Dot,
No, I don't fall into that category, I just felt the way the poll was worded that if you were much older than 46 your T- bird would already have been "passed on" (pun intended) to your children. My son reminds me of this so much that I sometimes feel as if I should ask him for the keys. Hopefully he will get it when he's over 46!!! He's 16 now. My father did however leave me with brains and good looks

Ron, We took care of that, our children live 2000 miles away. Wouldn't do them much good to ask for the keys. They have enough trouble trying to figure out where we are.

Here is a chance to be a trend setter. Turn your back on the rice burner boxes. Don't forget, a lot of us drove old Triumph's, MG's and Fiat two seaters when we were younger ... and trust me you have a much better car with your T'Bird!!!!!!!

Nothing says attitude like a classic two seater with the top down. Enjoy ... just like the rest of us. BTW, we need you around to keep us young.

I think he went to get his GTO or Chevelle. If he hasn't, wait until he sees the poll when it is more finite and shows the percentage of ownership for males over 60 years old.

I think you're right, Barbara. He only made one post, when he started this poll. Guess we're all too OLD for him.
              The poll really shocked him!

Don't think he's totally left. He last visited on Friday.

We should have a poll of how many of our kids want our cars when we're gone...

I'm actually surprised at the stats (76% male). Most "non" T-Bird people that I have been around up here in Canada call them a "woman's car". I didn't know the stats so always thought that more women than men must own these for people to think this way. Very interesting.

Could be too that while the man is chatting on ThunderBird Forums, that the woman is out driving HER BIRD.

while my kids like the car, if they inherited it, it would be sold in a heartbeat, I gave my daughter my 1999 chevy step side, she had it all the time anyway, and she sold it 3 days later

That's what I'm afraid of - the money might be more needed than the transporation or better yet, the fun. We're likely to sell most of our cars and 'maybe" pass one or two on to the kids.

ps - Mark - is that why you're anxiously awaiting her 18th birthday?

That's what I'm afraid of too, Mark. The younger ones (like my grown daughters) just don't have the same memories of T-Birds, etc., that we do. I'm hoping my grandsons will develop a love for my car.

                            Stuff,
it seems that you are the youngest and that is maybe what you wanted to proove or to find out.
I thought I might be one of the youngest (34) but now I know I am not.
I think choosing such a car needs (besides money) having style and taste. Many youngsters do not have that. But this is exactly what you demonstrate with driving that car.

People will always give a good feedback. This car is just beautiful and stylish. So more cool than anything.

Sometimes I drive my new 2nd car, a Dodge Magnum SRT8. Of course it is fun and this car impresses people a lot. But it is not that much understanding than driving the T-Bird.

Dot, I like to keep track of the days to tell her she does not have too much time left to stay at home, I told her when she turns 18 shes out, of coarse I wouldn't do that, but its a thought, I have told them all that, :) (all six of them)

                                I thought I was young! I bought mine when I was 29!
