Re: What is a Garage Queen!

Being retired, I'm not even a daily driver anymore! And with 3 cars to choose from (Goldi, Moondoggie & Gus), what little I do drive, is split between them, depending on need or mood.

I put 50K in two years commuting, since then in almost two years I have less than 52K so I guess I have garage queen now. I will be retiring next year and will probably make more trips then.

It's been nothing but work for me this year and doing chaeufer duty ferrying my collection of hospital ward rejects to and from the doctor. So that's why my milage isn't higher on the Bird this year.

That's my story -- And I'm sticking to it.

Up until I added the truck, my precious Merlot was a daily driver. Now she has become a Garage Queen. I am however, driving her in every once in a while. I had too many people asking, if I sold the tbird. So, I must do my duty to society and drive the bird to work occasionally, to give them all a tbird fix. Not to mention, it gives me great pleasure.

I have driven mine to work most nice days for the past 3 years.

Last week one of the ladies in the shop stopped to tell me she saw me pulling into the parking lot that A.M. She then said "I DIDN'T KNOW YOUR CAR WAS A CONVERTIBLE"

Were it not for MoTown Thunder I wouldn't have passed the 8000 mile mark in the past year. Since I'm retired "Annie" is kept clean, and I like to keep her that way. If it rains, and I don't have to use her, I don't. When it isn't possible to avoid bad weather, when I get home, she gets wiped down with some nice clean terry cloth towels, right down to her 88 hole/dent grill. Just passed the 20,000 mile mark, which on a 2005 deserves a party!

Bought Rosebud Jan.1 2005 and has under 15000 miles, we don't drive her much in the rain (rains a lot in western Wa). The 05 F150 bought 7 months later has over 15000 miles but it is our going to the cabin vehicale and hauling firewood.

Re: What is a Garage Queen!

My merlot has turned into a garage queen since the move. The driving is too nuts here to drive it to work & the area isn't the greatest where my office is - so it just waits for the weekend to get out and about.

Still waiting for the weather to cool down so I feel like driving with the top down through some of the mountain drives here.

Approaching 66,000 miles, it's garaged at night, but is driven most every day. What a privilege it is to own and drive such a fine automobile.

Had my wife's 500 in the shop for a transmission flush and a recall on the rear brakes. So she drove my 06 Mustang GT to work & I drove the T-Bird to work. About half way to work I broke 10,000 miles. Will have had the T-Bird 70 months come tomorrow. Average of 142.95 miles per month.

No Garage queen here. Not a daily driver but we enjoy as much as possible. 39 months old and 26000 miles.

The 02 Whisper White is still under 2 grand but the competition for miles with the other vehicles makes her a perfect weather only ride. The 05 S-type is over 30,000, the 04 Town & Country AWD Limited is over 56,000, and the old reliable 92 Explorer Sport is about 130,000. Since there's only two drivers here it's a weather and function decision everytime we go out. PS those "Perfect Days" make it worth while! WLW

I'm kinda the same way as WLW. The 02 T-Bird just broke 10K but my daily driver 13 month old Mustang GT has 13,500 miles and my wifes 2005 Ford 500 which is 2 years and 2 months old has 35,000 miles on it. The 500 is my wifes daily driver and our beat around vehicle at night if we go to dinner or a Casino. The Mustang is my daily driver, but it too is fun to go cruising in. So we take it sometimes for the fun rides.
