Re: What is a Garage Queen!

2002 T Bird, owned one year, I put 4000 miles on it
2010 Mustang convert Shelby Tribute 20000 miles in 5 years

So one could say I drive them 8000 miles and not necessarily Queens, but then again, in reality they both are.

          Can a grocery-hauler be a garage queen?
When we traded in our six-year-old Elantra Touring, it had 11,000 miles on it. It had been used maybe three or four times a week for local errands. Its replacement, a Nissan Rogue, is destined for the same fate - less than 2k miles/yr.
I doubt anyone would call them garage queens.
I don't think the TBird will see much more use. Showing off for local errands, maybe 10 car shows a year, and an occasional 1k mle trip to the mountains. I used to drive it more until I got a third, modern, fun car to back it up.

Well, since this poll first came, our driving time in the '05 has greatly changed; we first noted we spent more then 10K per year in the car, but she's now just over 10 years and just turned 75K miles. In addition, because I'm now retired, I doubt I put 100 miles a week on her. Thanks for doing the poll though, Spence, even though times have changed.

Re: What is a Garage Queen!

Car is sitting at 93,000 miles and I've put 30,000 in the three years we've hung out together. No queen here. Sure glad you old guys aren't driving your queens as that means a great market for my next Bird when this one dies!

I guess mine is a garage queen at 7,250 miles, '05 Cashmere special edition.

2012 Cadillac CTS Sport Station Wagon 3,100 miles on it...Approx. 1500 total Sport Wagons built for 2012.

Good point Bill, but the Queens are still demanding a premium, don't they always?

Re: What is a Garage Queen!

Well I guess both my Queens will do stand by duty shortly when the white stuff arrives. So here are the facts and nothing but the facts (RIP and sorry J W aka J F)
                    2010 Mustang current mileage 21500
                    2002 T Bird current mileage 31600

So If I remember I will check back here next year and see where things are

But you have to keep the garage closed.

Bought our '03 DSB two years ago with 17000 miles on it, now have over 31000 miles.
Only time its a garage queen is when its in the garage.

Mine is a total garage queen for the winter - in the summer in will be used for fun, trips, cruises, etc - my "good car" - it will be impeccably kept and probably about 5K miles per summer.
