Give me a Silver Mink 63' Bullet Bird. This was the first car that I took notice of and wanted my Dad to buy. We ended up with a Fairlane instead.

Well, I saw the title of this thread, voted in the poll, and THEN read all the comments and saw the results of the poll. Like some of the others have already stated, I didn't realize the question referred to TBirds. My vote went for the years 55-57, because those were simply the best dayz ever!!! That carefree and happy era was regretably never repeated. As for my favorite TBird generation, my opinion is the same years, so guess I lucked out and voted right.

No brainer for me! Grampa bought one of the first '55 Birds and brought it home (to the farm). Have always loved them (55-57) but was too young to drive and my father, having four kids and being the practical person he was, would NEVER buy one.

Along came the retros and the rest is history for me.

I have read all the views on various birds but still think the THUNDERBIRD is a roadster, like the Vette. Ford has no clue on merchandising.

At the "Cruise to the Beach" car show in No. Myrtle Beach a few weeks ago there was a beautiful 1962 Colonial White Sport Roadster. It won its class as did Walter Goodenough's Evening Black w/Black and Red interior RetroBird. By the way, Walter, those Red Dice hanging from the rear view mirror were a nice touch!

Lynda and I purchased a new 88 turbo coupe in Jan 88. We used and used the car sold it this year to the mechanic that kept it going all these years with 250,000 miles on. Put in 3 or more transmissions and one turbo but no motor work.

It was a fun car to drive and was pretty fast.

I hadn't thought about this thread until last night when I was watching a repeat of the Barrett-Jackson auction in Arizona.

There was a gorgeous '63 roadster that sold and even though it isn't everyone's favorite prior to the Retros it sure is a fine looking car.

The knife edge styling could go over very well in this generation if someone was brave enough to take on the challenge.
