Before I go any further, I'd like to direct all North Texas members to a Dinner Meet tonight, Saturday, 07/19/08:
http://www.thunderbirdnest.com/forum...ad.php?t=21339
please post on that thread if you are able to attend.
--------------------------------------------
That said,
How do YOU access new threads. or posts on TBN?
There are two ways, if you use another, please share
1. I always go straight to QUICK LINKS on the Navigation bar, click on that, and get a drop box of directives. I click on TODAY'S POSTS, that brings up almost any thread in which a member has posted, or started, in the last 24 hours.
There are a couple of exceptions, you have to request the sub-forums concerning Politics and Patriotism, to see those automatically. Such requests should be directed to the administrators
2. It was brought to my attention in the last few months that other members routinely click on FORUMS to see which sub-forum(s) has new posts, or threads that interest them.
As our time to read new content on the site is usually limited, some members never make thier way all the way down the FORUM page.
Case in Point:
An active couple in the North Texas group missed two functions in early 2008. I phoned to check on them, and found they were totally unaware of the local meets, because they didn't know about the TBN Groups and Chapters Forum. They just never read down that far!
Both of the event threads had several posts, before and after the meets.
If you enter thru FORUMS please take a few minutes to scroll to the bottom of the page. You may be surprised at what you find!
BTW: Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks??
I just set up my first poll!! It was easy!
(and referred to myself as an "old dog?")
