How old were you when you bought your FIRST RetroBird???
Re: How old were you when you bought your FIRST RetroBird???
I was 46, bought my Cashmere new on 4/15/2005, results of a bad tax day and needed a treat, I had just gotten back from La Jolla, California where I had rented a 2005 Silver and Black Thunderbird for a week.
Re: How old were you when you bought your FIRST RetroBird???
I was 60 and Liz was 58 when we bought the RedBird, but I've wanted one since I got to take a friends '57 out for a spin in '67. Could'nt afford one then had to settle for a used '65 Mustang then a '70 Mach 1. Only took 46 years and a Harley to trade for RedBird, but Liz smiles everytime she takes it out for a spin!
Re: How old were you when you bought your FIRST RetroBird???
After a test drive in Palm Springs 2003 I loved the car but divorce and unemployment followed. Discovering the PCR color as well as in 2008 in my own country an almost brand new PCR at 7k miles, I had to buy it and celebrated: I'm back!
While the taste for retro infected me, changing my interior at home into avantgarde/vintage and buying the almost 30 year old Saab. Guess it's to joyfull spirit and dreams out of that retro period that I appreciate so much.

Fashion fades, style remains
And my daily use car is: SAAB TURBO Coupe 1984 (fully restored, silver metalic, 200 hp with raw exhaust: WROAAAHHHH )

64 and glad I waited. I didn't really care for the looks of it (mostly the front) when it first came out. Now I can appreciate it (love the ride), especially when it seems like every other car I see is an Altima!
