Curious - I installed a Harbor Freight hoist in the garage ceiling but have not found an easy way to attach the cable to the HT (so it doesn't come loose and drop). Curious how you do it.

I have an electric hoist made from the Harbor Freight equipment. I store the top on the OEM stand.

I put the top on this morning. I can do it in about 20 minutes. But before I put it on, I clean the rear window and vacuum the roof upholstery because it's easier to reach with the top on the stand. All that takes about 30 minutes total.

I used straps from a trunk-mounted bicycle rack. It works very well. There are a few photos in my gallery. I also have a PDF document that gives all the details. If you'd like a copy, send me a PM with your email address.

I got an electric hoist from www.top-hoist.com and couldn't be happier.

It only takes about 5 minutes to mount the top or remove it. I leave it hanging, so I don't have to get anyone else to help.

My son bought a electric hoist from Harbor Freight, made a hoist to lift it right off the car. It takes about 5 minutes or less to put the top on or off. I leave it in the hoist over the car. It is very well built and secure. It is the only way to go.

remove manually and store on cart. I would love to have it back on one day but I have the top down most days.

We put my brother-in-law's roof on yesterday.

Only took five minutes to install, but it took me 25 minutes (round trip) to get there and back.

Anyway, I'll get payback when he helps me put mine on. (Also gives us an excuse to have a beer while the sisters visit each other.)

Replied to this earlier but no comment. I use an electric hoist and store it on the stand. I could leave it on the hoist but with my 4 car garage I have room to keep it on the stand.

Not having a larger garage is about all I miss from downsizing. Went from a three car to a two car. A four car must be really nice.

I have not had the top on in over 5 years. It is stored in the corner on a homemade foam stand, right behind all of the kids "junk".

Folks, if you store your top like this, and it is covered, be sure to check it every year and see that varmints aren't setting up house in it. I have a friend who has damage to the inside of her top where field mice got in it her first year and messed up the cloth material. FWIW.
