Re: MILEAGE ON YOUR BIRD 2010

bought my red '04 T'bird in Nov. of '05 with 24K miles. Now it is just short of 60K. I use it 3 seasons in PA and park it for a few months when there is snow. Yearly mileage is 5K to 7K a year on average. Never been my daily driver, but when I can put the top down the bird takes off for a flight.

I hope so, too, or someone's going to have a lot of 'splainin' to do!

Rick, your car definitely qualifies as high mileage, but I bet you have had plenty of smiles to go with them.

Don't worry, when you wear this one out there will be plenty of garage queens for you to choose from to replace it.

My 04 has 42,800 on it with no problems. Wife said I had to get rid of one of my toys and I guess we will be selling the T-Bird. I've had a lot of fun with it and have made 4 trips to Texas and back . Still looks and dirves like new. I've met several good folks on the site and a have had a great time here and in the car.

Bill, I didn't get much time to talk with you in Dearborn during the 55th Tbird anniversary, but I think you hold the record for States visited in your car. I doubt if I'll ever catch up on miles, I'm currently at 61,077.

One of my questions is, "Have you had your rear wheel brake pads changed yet, and did they turn the rotors?" I still have 5mm of material on mine and I'm concerned that the rear rotors may be too thin to be turned, and as a result may need to be replaced. My Ford dealer says they always true up the rotors when they replace the brake pads.

I put 30,000 in the first three years, had to drive her. Only 1,500 in the last two years. Will be less as I go along.
