    My hard top is not used 100 % of the time. It is for cosmetic purpose only from my point of view, not very practical but I will try it this summer for fun only.

      Try that top now, but not on ice or snow. Mine are on all winter and I drive everyday if there is no snow or ice. They will come off near the end of March.

        It's a convertible... So Top Off but can't get Liz to do the same.. Top is on in cold weather.. 50's Yesterday.. Snow and 30's Today here in the Adirondacks. Red Bird still in garage UGH

          I get about the same amounts down South. In the winter pople like it on. In the summer they say it looks sport.

            I take it off in the "winter" like now. 70/80s and sunny.
            Soon will come the rains and the 90s. On will go the top.

            I have a lift, so if I see a predicted change in the weather, I can pop the top in less than 5 minutes.

            I bought it because it was a convertible. But an added bonus is, it is the coolest looking car on the road with the porthole top on!

                I will let you know.

                The summer is too short here to have the hard top installed. The quality of the soft top is great here.

                Anyway, I will try it.

                    With the lack of winter this year, snows came off the LS today, and the retro's hardtop is coming off very soon.

                    If I get a real burst of "gotta go for a ride with the top down", that's where the Galaxie comes in.

                      that I get, which are quite a few, go in the top down side
                      of the ledger.

                          I am lucky to have the best of both. The Inca has its black hardtop on always and the Red has not had its hardtop on since it came home in July '03. So one with and one without and you can't beat that combination.

                              Why on earth would you buy a convertible and leave the hardtop on? I can count the number of times have driven with the hardtop on on the digits I have. I live in Minnesota and when it is too cold to drive with the top down that means there is snow. I don't drive my bird in the snow. But people still say nice car with the top down every time I drive it.

                                Well,Last week I put the white top back on 007, first time in 9 years. Often wondered how it was doing under the cover on the rack? Going to a Thunderbird Pagent and need the top up for judging - SOOO - There fore the top is on. Looks good. Had 2 people ask me when I got the new car :} It wil come back off when I get home. Too many great days to drive with the top down.
