Cuz it's hotter than h-e-double hockey sticks outside, that's why! HT won't come off until first of October.
Driving to work at 6 a.m. it's almost 100 degrees, meaning there are no periods between June and Sept when I'd want to have the top down. Not all of us hail from Brandon where you have milder weather this time of year.

Hard top on……….Hard top off. Its a personal choice. Why would any one else care if its on my car or off my car?

What Jim and Ross said!!! Just too damn hot in our areas in the "Good old summer time"..
When I was still riding Harleys and Goldwings I put them up in late July and August, guess it's an age /health thing for me.

I guess that is why I took a semiconductor job in San Jose versus Motorola at Phoenix. It was June when I interviewed and the temperature was about 100 degrees when I got off the plane. It was too big a shock after spending a week interviewing in Silicon Valley.

Here we put the HT on for the rainy season--hmn, may not have one this year (oh, oh). Usually, Thanksgiving to Easter.

As far as comments go, I have gotten about an equal number with top on and top off. I have noticed that the top-off comments come from younger people. Us older ones remember the window pix.

I never have bought into the "too hot for the soft top theory" since the AC cools the car fine with the soft top up, but if the car is a daily driver in very hot sunny climate I could see where potential fading might be a problem.

As for top on or off - I'd say the car looks more distinctive with the hard top on, but it is definitely a lot more fun with it off. Since I'm more into fun than looks, our top has been off 99% of the time we've owned the car. Add to that at my height I have trouble seeing out of the car with the hard top on, the top remains on the rack virtually all the time.

My hardtop is coming off soon.... And though I cringe even writing this, but when I store my car, it's always with soft top up, hardtop stored.... Ugghhh. Winter - nasty word...

But... Still have some top down weather in the cards, so all is good for a couple of months..

More with it on.......portholes you know. Seems people who are not even concerned much with Tbirds remember the porthole roof of days gone by.

I believe it is an individual choice.
Historically I have run during the summer with the hardtop because I like the look. But during the fall and winter storage, like Mark, I have the soft top up to get it stretched out again. Also makes for good Spring-time driving
