I have replaced the tires and put on a set of 21 spoke chrome wheels. The cost for both was about $1100. The only other expense has been on oil and filters. I do my own oil changes.

How much money have you spent on your tbird car since you bought it? Including new tires, brakes, ad-ons, repairs etc. excluding fuel.

$4,129 including one 3 yr ESP, four new ww tires (the TBird's original tires are still on my LS), a set of used 2004 rims, car cover, and a few small mods.

ESP and tires were the big ticket items.

Comes to about .206 cpm..

(Factor out the ESP and the tires that I really didn't need, the cpm comes way down.)

What about ESP costs?
Also, average cost per mile might be interesting as it somewhat takes into effect the year of the car and the mileage. (All things being equal, older retros with higher miles will have higher costs).

ESP should be included. Someone in somewhere has to pay for repair.

No $ for mods.
Battery replaced as well as thermostat.
Replaced 1 tire due to nail puncture on sidewall.
Replaced radiator and brake fluid for preventative measures.

Over the 10 years I have spent about 5k. Replaced the cops, 1000, heater control valve 600, transmission and rear-end work, rotors and brake pads are the major items. 120,000 miles and 10 years ... not too bad. It is a bit more than normal but it has been worth every penny. My car has not been babied at all. I drive it hard and fast.

David, could it has been much higher? , you have replaced your tires and your wheels also. I am just questionning.

Alain: You are. Correct. 2 sets of tires and a battery as well as the rest. I did replace fhe wheels but they are like the originals and I sold the origional set for the same money so that was a wash.

My cost was for only oil changes, battery, and wiper blades.. Any other cost was for the extras that I have put on. the '03 has been a great car....

Probably around $3,000 exclusive of Warranty and insurance, of which $1,000 was for Borlas. Had the car 3 years, put about 14,000 miles on it, and it has 35,000 miles now.

I wouldn't include insurance, but I would include the ESP cost.

The purpose of this poll is to know the amount of $$ that you have spent to maintain your car in a good condition excluding the warranty, whatever the warranty is.

Looking at the poll responses the retro Birds appear to be a very inexpensive car to dress up(mods) and keep serviced. And that's good news
