MIKE, I HOPE I CAN CLEAR THIS UP, IF YOU SPENT MONEY ON THE ESP, THEN YOU SHOULD NOT INCLUDE REPAIRS MADE UNDER THE WARRANTY, JUST THE DEDUCTABLE. WITH NO ESP, THE TOTAL REPAIR BILL WOULD BE AN EXPENSE. I THINK ALAN WAS JUST TRYING TO CLEAR THINGS UP FOR US WHO CAN ONLY CONVERSE IN ONE LANGUAGE.

Thanks Ron. You are totally right and you understood me. My many thanks.

Because there is so many confusion, that will be my last message as a TBN member and as a French Canadian who is doing the best to be involved in this website and to provide additionnal topics to keep you curiosity like this poll.

I resign.... Sorry about my bad English.

Thanks to all of you. For me, it is the end.

Well, if this forum goes on, IMHO, the cost of an ESP and the deductible should be included.

But, I still feel the results are skewed due to the various age/mileage of our Birds.

I really can't compare my 20,000 mile retro costs with the cost of a retro with 2, 3, or 4 times the mileage.

CPM is the only common factor.

Alain, assuming you'll be checking back, don't jump ship.

The bad thing about communicating via the typed word is that you cannot read a person's meaning using print as you could if you were having a conversation over a burger and beer.

What may sound as a harsh criticism probably wasn't meant to be so, at least that's how I choose to read into most posts.

Re: How many $$ have you spent to your car?

This sure is getting complex. When there are really only 2 correct answers.

          1. Not enough (my view)

          2. Too much (wifie view)

          That is all, carry on

            Alain,
I hope you will return to read this. My post was only asking for some clarity, due to the differences in your phrasing words and my way trying to read & understand what you are saying. I certainly apologize if in some way you felt I was attacking you.

I am not that kind of person and truly do wish you remain on the site, you have a lot of insight and often have offered some very interesting topics. But if you don't return than that is too bad & I can only wish for you the very best in all your endeavors. Take care.

WELL, I VOTE AGAINST LETTING YOU RESIGN. WE ALL NEED TO LEARN TO ASK QUESTIONS IN A LITTLE LESS HARSH MANNER. I MAY BE GUILTY OF THAT AND IF SO, I I DID NOT MEAN TO BE. I USUALLY GET CORRECTED WHEN I DO AND THAT IS FINE. MOST OF US ARE GROWN UPS AND WE WOULD MISS YOU BEING HERE.

                Alain, I like your posts.
But you have to try not to take things so seriously.
A lot of us are here for the comraderie. We are like a family, and we might tease, fuss, and there may be an occasional friendly feud.
But, we eventually cool off, and come back.

I hope you'll continue to post, my friend.

"How much $$ have you spent to your car?" doesn't make sense to me.

Because I could not make the difference between ON or TO, my poll does not make sense as I saw and then, nobody could understand the meaning of this poll. This is what the message is.

As a French Canadian, I could not accept that. I do my best in English written and some members wrote to me to provide their support to me. I am glad to see their cmments. You should understand that I could not write as a lawer.

By saying that, the Admin from this website provided to me a translator from Google which is almost good. It is good from English to French, however, the opposite is not the same. At my work, we have already tested it. We have a true translator from many years that she is still making correction from the translators on the web from French to English. Preposition included.

I do not think that it will help me anymore if someone is looking for the bits and bites as Jim is looking for.

                  Thanks,
                  Alain

Well, I just spent another $942 on her last night...had six COPS replaced (with plugs) along with a different plug that also needed replaced. I paid for their replacement because Ford wouldn't until it threw a code.
Went to a different dealer (North Phoenix) and while testing after the COPS replacement, they discovered there was a tranny issue when she shifts b/t 2-3 & 3-4...those of you who've been on the site for a while know that's been an issue with this car since day one. Needless to say, I'm now approximately $6,000 into repairs on this car, and that's not counting the ESP program purchased when the car was new.

Jim, how did they discover the trans issue?

Was it something you noticed while driving?

It's been into Ford for more than a dozen times for the tranny issue over the last 7 years. When I took it in this time, it was simply for the COPS. This dealer discovered it while they were test driving it after the COPS repair...yet another dealer branch (same ownership) couldn't find a problem when THEY drove it. No, the car doesn't have a problem...it's YOU the owner (yeah, it's me...right!)...GRRRRR!!!

                                EASILY over 20k....easily.

Wheels, tires (2 sets of Falkens, 3rd set needed), new tranny, LV interior (faded, needs to be replaced...maybe Burberry this time), sound system (a couple of brands [Earthquake, Pioneer] until I found what I like and that's Boston speakers and sub), on my 5th stereo (original, Sony, Pioneer, Sony, now Kenmore), faux chrome, new top (needed), 2 boots (one ripped, one stolen), cover (misplaced?).

Thinking about a luggage rack(if I can easily remove it and put it back on myself...done deal), need another boot, need new sub and speakers...I've come to the conclusion it's the Sun that is ruining the sub, not the volume. The smaller speakers...it's the volume. Gotta get a dent taken out (daughter), gotta check the COPS, sheesh....and I LOVE every minute of it.

Also the regular things needed....brakes, fluid, battery, etc.

oopsies...forgot my Magna-Flows and I did get one ESP.
