  • What will happen if you died?

The purpose of this poll, is to know what you will be doing with your car after dying. What is your plan in that case if it happens to you.

For example, I bought my car where the first owner died. There were 4 children that were looking for their father's car. In order to avoid any dispute between each other, they decided to sell it and I bought it as a stranger. I know they are happy of me because they were looking to have a second owner to take care of their father's car. And this is what I did.

Now, this time, I would not expect any more negative comments about my English written. I think, you understood what I am looking for.

This poll will be a test for me if it makes sense or not. Just to improve it by your comments if needs be. I am expecting to have a very good discussion among the TBN community in this topic.

Thanks for all of your support!
    Alain

My son has told me to never sell it, that if I ever want to let it go he will buy it.
But my estate goes to my wife so that is her problem to deal with.
I doubt she would keep it for herself, she never wants to drive it.

I have only one of my five grandkids that gets what the car is all about.
My Sammie used to call it the Funderbird till about 5 years old,
but now that she has turned 11 she tells me that she really likes
our alone drives where we have long talks in the sunshine.

The Tbird is really my wife's car eventhough it is in my name. The estate goes to my wife if I am the first to go. She would probably keep it as she really enjoys the car. If I'm the last to go, it would just go into the estate if it is still around. No younger family members really are interested in it. They are into BMW, Mercedes, and Lexus cars and SUVs.

Re: What will happen if you died?

For my case, I do not think my wife will keep it, nor her twin sister. My son is not there too. Maybe, I will sell it or give it to my twin brother. I know, he will take care of it.

So, as you can see, My wife and myself are twins.

That comment took me a moment to figure out!

Unless he has a change of heart, I doubt my son would keep CARTOY. It's not suitable transportation for his four-legged friends. His dogs are his babies, and on the whole, they go where he goes!

            Alain, just a suggestion.

A better pole might have been "what will you do with your car if/when you get to the age when you can no longer drive safely".

That might generate some real interesting opinions.

Anyway, I don't know what would happen if I should die suddenly. It would go to my wife, who really has no use for a two seat convertible. She'd probably leave the decision up to our two daughters.

As for them, they don't have much use for a two seater either, so it will probably get sold and the proceeds split. So, that's my pole answer, sold on the market.

Never discussed it. Wife would probably just sell it.

I've been to a few T-Bird events. Based on a few observations that would have been a couple of years ago in some cases. HA!

All of our vehicles are in both names "with right of survivorship", so they go to the survivor. However, if I should go before Charley, he will probably keep Moondoggie, and Goldilocks will probably be sold to Russ Lord ("napablue" in Copper Canyon, TX).

I'll be glad to take that Jaguar off your hands. You know it would go to a person that would take good care of it.
