Re: How many COPs have you replaced to your Tbird car up to now?

Lately I've heard a popping or burbling sound and felt very rough idle especially when in gear at a stop. Slightly concerned after the major transmission work in JAnuary and less than a thousand miles on it since then. Left it at the dealer last night along with a printed copy of Customer Satisfaction Programs 07M07. I just received the call. Two replaced and I'm ready to go..... and I still have 68 miles left under warranty!

Just brought Bird(2003) into local car dealer. Bird was not firing on all and was sluggish when going up steep grades. Last fall I had similiar problem and 4 COPs were replaced, at no cost. Dealer is in process of performing test and will report the failed codes to Ford to obtain approval to replace the plugs and COPs.

When i brought the car in the first time they should have replaced all. Only had 2000 miles since the Fall visit. Bird has 48000 .

I was told that under the Ford extended warranty for 100,000 miles on COPs, the dealers can only replace them when they fail, which they usually do one at a time. If the ones they return are still good, they won't get paid by Ford.
