Not really a fan of any cruising song that starts with
"do you ever feel like breaking down..." ...
"Get your motor running...." makes more sense to me.

My guess is this poll was put up to once again try to run Alain off the site since the first attempt was not successful. Honestly, I don't know why the guy even tries to be here.

It's a shame folks can't let things go.

Clumsy of me, I didn't catch it. This isn't worthy of comment.

I love you, Paul....yet I didn't get that at all from the poll. I'm letting this comment go.

I'm a 50's doo wopper, but for some reason, I like this tune when cruising:

              http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuA-f...yer_detailpage

I don't know why I like it. Just gives me a certain feeling of "freedom" when I hear it.

Maybe because it reminds me of the great days of the early 60's?

Not sure who was singing it when I heard it, but I 'member it cuz it mentions a place near where I live:

Pulled out of San Pedro late one night
And the moon and the stars were shining bright
We was drivin' up Grapevine Hill
Passin' cars like they was standing still

The Grapevine is what they call the stretch of highway going up the hill to the Tejon Pass headed to LA from Bakersfield, the peak is over 4k ft. It's about 100 miles north of San Pedro

Re: So, you will be alone

OK, this is a poll so I'm limiting my choices to the options given.

My Simple Plan for their two songs is to push the mute button.

As for the Beach Boys, I like their work, but I'll puke if I hear it one more time.

So that leaves me with Steppenwolf. Easy peasy.

Re: So, you will be alone

When I think Beach Boys, I think "Don't Worry Baby" and "In My Room".

Also, I like the Beach Boys song that was played in the last scene of American Graffiti when Richard Dreyfuss is in the plane looking down at Suzanne in her Bird. Really captures the west coast feel.

                    "All Summer Long"

                    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=2smDXr13EJE

Perfect musical ending to the movie.

Try not to speed when you play this one.

Re: So, you will be alone

I've never heard of Simple Plan, Steppenwolf reminds me of biker movies and I can do without the Beach Boys so I'm not voting.

Cruising music in my 20s was Loverboy "Lovin Every Minute of it", Billy Squiers "The Stroke", Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and Phil Collins "In the Air Tonight" the drum solo drummed on the dashboard of the car.

Now it's an ecclectic combination of Willie Nelson, George Strait, Prince, The Eagles, Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson and the BeeGees version of Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band (RIP Maurice and Robin) and yes I'm the ONE who bought the record album (99cents on clearance at the wherehouse).

There's also "Black and White Thunderbird" by The Delicates (Murray The K's "dancing girls") and "Pink Thunderbird" by Gene Vincent & the Blue Caps. And lest I forget "In My Thunderbird" by Billy Ford & the Thunderbirds.
