Whoa! This is scary. I am not about to divulge where I fall on that bar graph. It would bring a rash of comments that I would have to deal with. Let's just say that I don't act my age (even my kids tell me that) and that it really doesn't make a difference.
Now watch some wise guy try to figure out what I just said. LOL

Oh yes, it was a midlife crisis - that and the aforementioned earning power that comes along at about the same time for many of us. And I'm going to keep on having this midlife crisis for just as long as I can sustain it. Old age and wisdom may be great, but for now - I'm having a blast with the midlife crisis! 6 years and counting!

I think it's very clear (IMO) WHY the Bird attract us BABY BOOMERS more so than any other group. We all had wonderful childhood memories or seeing them or riding in them when we were just kids. The young kids today have no conception of what a beautiful 1957 TBird looked like, up close and personal, like us BABY BOOMERS do. That in of itself is what influenced us to have one of our own when they came back in 2002. IMO

Ditto...Ditto...Ditto My Dad had a black/white 56. That was my dream car. My Blk 02 was my link to the past, and my 04 now copies my Dad's 56, as I remember it. I'll have her forever.

I think history is repeating itself. I came across the postcard attached and it reminded me of why I fell in love with the Thunderbird back in the mid 50s when they first came out. This card reminds me of the majority of the vehicles of today.

Ah yes, Dot! What a great piece of memorabilia of the 50s. I can name most of the cars in that beautiful parade coming off the bridge. Oh, what we took for granted, back in the "good old days".

My parents' next door neighbors had a 56 Blue T Bird back then. I just drolled over that car. I recall daydreaming that they would give it to me when they became "old" since they had no children. What a pipedream! I told myself over and over that I would one day figure out a way to have one. It took a VERY long time, but I did it!!! It was well worth waiting for.

I had to look at your profile to see when midlife crises begin, so I would know how long I've been middle-aged!

MY reckoning has me just NOW entering middle age (life begins at 50, baby!), but gosh, I'm a tad older than you, so I guess I've been there longer than I think!!!

I SAY: HERE'S To MIDDLE AGE!!! long may it last!!!
(I'm thinking we don't have to be "seniors" until at least 80 or 85!! I never liked numbers anyway!)

So here's a question for you TBNers...WHEN does middle age begin, and when does senior citizenship begin?

                        (this could be interesting...!)

Its all a state of mind. Middle age begins when you feel your middle age and senior citizen when you believe your one. In my case since I got my T-Bird, I'm on my way to twenty something. That's what my son and daughter say and that's just find with me. So in a year I have taken of 30 something years. WOW I wonder what would happen if I had two Birds, adolecense.

I realized I was in my "MLC" when I started thinking about buying a Harley. However, I read somewhere that there are those motor cycle riders who have crashed and those who are going to crash. After that I decided to get the new T-Bird because it reminded me of the best looking production car ever.

Now I am glad I got the bird...instead.

I am not publically divulging my age quite yet. However, it has leaked out to a few of you and I suspect that TBNwidow is the announcer. How else would OlDave have found out? Just kidding, Claire, spouses should not have secrets. Or, did TBIRDY have something to do with it??? Now don't go looking up the demographics bar graph to try to figure it out!

Anyway, at my ripe old age, I am in my mid-life crisis and I am loving it. MyT is the best thing that has happened to me since my retirement. MLC really is a state of mind and how you act day by day. I'll let you know when I get to be a senior citizen. Meanwhile, keep the top down!!!
