Just got off the phone with Greg who is very disgusted with the communication between the VA and his hospital. Evidently records sent from the VA only covered the spine and not heart etc which throws up a red flag. He's been on the phone all day (mainly on hold) . Hospital will not proceed until his primary physician at the VA advises that he is ok for this surgery . She is on vaca 'til next Tuesday. Surgeon can squeeze him in next Wednesday. What are the odds of that communication happening within 24 hours. If not the 13th, who knows.

Obviously his health is first but he sure is worrying about NOLA. Hardtop on the car, and costumes packed. Hope he has enough recovery time to make the trip!

Get well quick Greg. We all enjoy seeing you and your bride enjoying Black Beauty! I'm getting used to a quiet Red Tbird, but it is still SWEET T.

I am thinking that Greg has had all the surgery before he went to NOLA and that we are replying to a posting in September? Also Greg posted today on another topic at 3:27 AM

You would think, but Greg just posted today that he was finally seeing a doctor today.

No Jon, that surgery was cancelled to the point that Greg was concerned that he wouldn't be able to attend NOLA. Conflicts between VA and regular Doc/insurance plan.

Just got off the phone with him and nothing definitive. Cardiologist now wants him to undergo a stress test and an Echo-cardiogram before authorizing surgery. Stress test consists of 5 minutes of walking, 3 min. of walking fast and then 3 minutes of running. Greg is now at the point of being able to do one game of pickle-ball and then needing a rest. Doesn't think he will be able to complete the stress test at which point they'll go to a nuclear program. Next visit with cardiologist is Jan 18th with tests being completed some time before then. Currently unscheduled. And rhe beat goes on. Bouncing back and forth.

Greg, good luck with the surgery. I didn't have that but did have a broken neck about 19 years ago when I wreaked my 69 Vette. After 3 months in a hard collar I ended up getting a fusion on my 3rd and 5th vertebra. Another 3 month recovery from that. Worst pain I have ever felt.

I was set up for the same thing you are having 2 years ago but couldn't get it done because I had a heart attack one day before that was going to happen so now I just live with the problem because I can't go off my blood thinners.
