  • RIP Mike Schwartz (steelblue5505)

TBN has lost another great friend in Mike Schwartz. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Evelyn, their family and all of us lucky enough to know him as a friend.

Mike fought a 3 year courageous battle with intestinal cancer. His positive attitude was certainly very inspirational to those of us that knew him. The few conversations I had with him over these past few years always encouraged me more than I could have possibly encouraged him.

    Per Evelyn:

"Friday June 7th Mike passed away here at home. It was a blessing because he was in a lot of pain and could no longer eat. He fought a long hard battle, but the cancer won."

Mike and Evelyn along with Roger and Bonnie were responsible for planning and executing some of TBN's greatest events. Those events brought all of us that attended great joy. They also opened their home to several of us for a wonderful meal and fellowship when we were in Washington as part of our Thunder Out West travel event in 2018.

Mike provided many a solution for pesky mechanical problems, was an ardent supporter of TBN, and upbeat nice guy. He will be greatly missed, RIP.

RIP Mike. It was a great honor to have met you and to call you, my friend. We were able spend three days this past August visiting with Mike and Evelyn at Frank Lloyd Wright designed home in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. Mike had cancer at that time, and I was amazed at his positive attitude. Prayers to Evelyn and family.

We saw them toward the end of last summer. Mike and Eve were our hosts for a short stay.He was very up (Just Like Mike) One would have never known he was fighting the big C. We used to chat once a month for the last few years and I miss him dearly. When it came to the retro, he was always the go to guy for the cure to those pesky problems. A very deep loss for all of us. .

Bonnie and I spent a lot of time together with Mike and Evelyn.over past years planning and scouting for for TBN events for Pikes Peak, Black Hills and the Big Teasy. We had some great times together... and he introduced us to some great wines from Washington State. Mike put the "up" in the phrase "Up Beat". We are going to miss keeping in touch with our monthly phone calls.
