I am Gene's daughter, Christine. He is doing well and he is currently in surgery to replace his valve. The Cath. test showed that there were not any blockages in the arteries. His surgery will take 5-6 hours. I will post tonight to let everyone know his status. Thank you for all the warm thoughts and prayers.
All went well with the surgery....he was kept overnight in the recovery room and was kept sedated and on the vent... It will be coming out around noon today...the nurse says that he is now awake and miserable because he wants the tubes out....I do t blame him!
I'm so glad to hear that all went well. A close friend from our church had the same procedure and while they were in their they repaired an Aortic Aneurism too. That was a lucky break because the aneurism would not have been discovered had they not gone in to fix the valve.
I'm just about ready to celebrate the 2 year anniversary of my AAA surgery. It was found on one of those cheapy 4 tests for $129.00 done by "Lifescreen". What a relief to know that got fixed!

It's good to read that things are "as expected" for Gene! Please let him know that we're thinking of him, and praying for him. Thanks again Christine...I'm sure you have a lot on your plate right now.

Really?? I've gone thru the LifeScreen routine twice...I thought it was probably a waste of time, and money. But, I didn't have any insurance, and I figured it was better than nothing. Glad to hear it actually caught your condition, you were successfully treated, and are in great shape, now!
Christine, next time you see your Dad wish him well for me and let him know I hope he has a speedy recovery. Ask him now that he's had the valve job is he going to have his cops replaced.
Dad is now home and is very happy to be in his own bed....he is very tired and sore but he did a TON of exercise today....I hope that. Prow is better....I am spending the night with Mom and Dad tonight so that I can help...we are asking things day by day...I am sure when he feels up to it he will be back soon!
Terrific news, Christine. Please send him my best wishes and hoping for a quick recovery. It is getting closer to Spring and he needs to re-bond with his retro.
