Hi everybody! It's sure good to be home. I had terrific care at the hospital, lots of prayers, and excellent support from friends and family. I get around fairly well but still have a bit of pain. I know that all I need is some time. Doc showed me a photo of the old valve, it was toast. I don't know how I was walking around. I'm very optimistic that this is a new lease on life. Thanks for all of those prayers and thoughts.
Gene,
Glad to know you are coming along like a champion. Was the robotic da Vinci surgical system made my Intuitive Surgical used on your valve? My wife had a mitral valve repair in 2000 with that system - it saved having to break the breast bone and made recovery much faster. I wasn't sure if that system could be used on a complete aorta valve replacement like you had. I'll have to tell my story on "stock" thread sometime about my experience with Intuitive.

Gene,
I watched the video, and it is amazing. I'm glad you were in good enough shape to get the one with open heart surgery though. Best of luck with your continuing rehab. Sounds like it is going super.
