Back in 1996, when I was 48, I had a triple bypass. Everything was good for years but in the past two years things haven't been too good. Insurance sucks and can't afford to have it checked. But in July I'll get Medicare and a very good supplemental insurance. I plan on getting a major check up. I know the signs so I know what to look for. I'm guessing I may get by with stints but can't say at this time until the testing is done. Can't wait to get back to feeling good again.
Today was my four year anniversary. Will be going for another checkup soon. Saw my pulmonologist today as I've been having some breathing issues.
Gene, Sorry to hear about you breathing problem. Hope it can be be worked out without any major problems. I have the same problem if I push it too much doing yard work around the house. But that's a heart problem on my end.
The pulmonologist found nothing wrong during his exam and has ordered more tests. He also wants me seeing the cardiologist as that may be the source of my problem. I have complete faith in both men.
A very good friend of mine had an Aortic valve replacement done a couple years ago and he's doing great. While they were inside they also fixed an aneurism which they were unaware of and could have been more serious than the valve itself. I had an abdomininal aortic aneurism which was only discovered because of a $119. LifeScreen test at a nearby church. It was a simple ultrasound like a mother getting a prenatal check. Surgery came 2 years later after routine ultrasounds showed it getting larger. AAAs are silent killers so I recommend if anyone is on Medicare, get tested. It is now paid for in its entirety.

Reason: revision of first post
Gene...you're in our thoughts, buddy. Our pastor had the exact same procedure you did (he's 66) about 5 years ago and he's going great. So appreciate your presence on this site!
