Strange match ups do occur in this tournament. Tomorrow two schools from Virginia that are 95 miles apart (Va Tech and Liberty) will face off 2800 miles from home.

That's probably one of the biggest basketball games in NDSU history. It's good for them though. Playing national caliber teams is how you improve your own athletic program.

I'm an alumni at what used to be considered Basketball U back when Coach Tarkanian was there as he was the winningest active coach during his time. It's been 29 years since UNLV beat Duke in the biggest championship game blowout in NCAA history. We went undefeated the following season but lost to Duke in the final game that year. We've been trying to get back to that level ever since.

My alma mater faces Duke on Friday in the Sweet 16. We beat them earlier this season but their star, Zion Williamson, was injured at the time.
