  • The State of Florida

    They now have two FSU's

Florida State University & Fling Shoe University. Marco Wilson has to be the bonehead of the year. He took them straight out of playoff contention no matter what happens in the SEC Championship game against Alabama.

Mr. Wilson obviously holds the NCAA record for shoe flipping. If the Olympics is considering break-dancing as an event can shoe flipping be far behind?

Thanks Gene, We South Carolinians don't even care about the SEC this year. But the ACC is on many minds as Clemson meets Notre Dame again !

It practically guarantees Alabama a place in the playoffs, because as we know, even if Florida beats them in the championship game, the powers that be in the NCAA always give a one loss Alabama a pass over other one loss or undefeated teams.

Paul, Florida already has two losses. Even if they were to win over Alabama it would be Alabama's only loss. You will never see a two loss team make the final four. Last one was LSU in 07. If you want to question the powers to be in the NCAA, it's difficult to understand how Ohio State who has only played 5 games is ranked number 4 while the ACC and SEC have played 10 games. I think we all know the answer, can't have a final four without Big Ten representation.

I think we all know that the NCAA will make sure we can't have a final 4 without an SEC team, Alabama preferably. Of course Florida wouldn't get in with 2 losses, but it's pretty much a given Alabama will with one loss any year; that's what I said to begin with. This year is just extra messed up. Frankly, given the state of the world, whoever gets in or wins the college football playoff is the least of our worries.

And SOMEONE needs to distinguish between Florida State University and the University of Florida. One has class, one doesn't and serious rivals for decades.
                    FSU class of '71.

What you said to begin with was it practically guaranteed them a spot. It did guarantee them a spot. Even if they lost this weekend they would drop to #3 or #4.... The current #3 plays #4 this weekend and one of them will drop out of the top 4. I think the SEC pretty makes sure they have at least one team in the final four every year, they are just that good. As far as the NCAA, it's a joke. Ohio State is ranked #4 and they are not even bowl eligible yet.

I don’t think it’s worth getting worked up about. Life is too short.

I couldn't agree more, Paul should settle down .....Wait until Saturday when current ranked #5 Texas A&M beats Tennessee and slips into the # 4 spot. Yep, two SEC teams in the final four, unfortunately they will most likely have to play each other in the first round.

Ohio State beat the following teams, Four of five have marginal records:

                            Nebraska 2-5
                            Penn State 3-5
                            Rutgers 3-5
                            Indiana 6-1
                            Michigan State 2-5

Meanwhile,Texas A&M is 7-1 having beaten Florida and lost only to Alabama

What am I missing? What has Ohio State done to be ranked #4
