That Torch Red T45.1 hammered for $18,500 but actually cost $20,350 with the 10% Buyer's commission added by Mecum. The cars tomorrow and Saturday are much lower mileage and will probably bring more. So, the dealer in Hilton Head, SC is not being unrealistic with his price of $17,500 even with his $499. added profit. His car also had under 30,000 miles.

I just checked www.HiltonHeadBMW.com and their TR has both tops, 28,866 miles, light sand inerior and Tan Conv, Top and was just reduced to $16,500!

Watched them bid a 2005 Ford GT up to $310K with no sale this afternoon. If I remember correctly that's almost twice what a new one cost 12 years ago. Guess that makes the GT the only modern Ford that actually was/is an investment. It will be interesting to see what the new one will do over time considering its price tag.

The good thing is I think they have bottomed out and the state of the economy will be a factor in increasing value, but odds are very favorable.The parallel with the original is amazing.
