  • 2018 Sightings of Thunderbirds

Time to get this started for this year. note I changed the title slightly this year so there is no misunderstanding of what year thunderbirds we need to be on the look out for.

Wow, the first post to this thread in 2018. Saw a blue Thunderbird parked in the area of Destin Commons in Destin, Fl. Fellow was standing near the car and I asked if it was his...no it wasn’t but did start a conversation about the car. He was interested in the Thunderbird and we chatted for a few minutes. Had a nice coffee, waiting to see if the driver would come by. No such luck.

There is a light ice blue parking near my work the last couple weeks and I see a silver occasionally on my way to work. Last week I saw a beautiful powder blue baby bird with a navy soft top near the local junior college.

Glad to see some posts to this thread. About all I can post are sightings of my own Tbirds on the road and at several Destinations around the DFW metroplex. None here seem to spot it.

Went to a memorial service in Dinuba CA on Friday, Feb. 16, driving our 2017 Ford Explorer.
There was a 2002 IY, with IY hardtop, in the parking lot. It looked in really good shape!
After the service, we talked with the owner, Skip, and gave him all the info about TBN. Don't know if he will take a look here.
I forgot my TBN cards, so I wrote the TBN info on a napkin. He said that he had never heard of TBN.
He said he was the second owner, and had about 150K on the odometer.
I told him about getting info on his T-Bird from TBN website with his VIN.
I also mentioned Dot's website too for info on T-Birds.

I hope he will get on here and learn more about his T-Bird.

Saw the silver lagain ast week on the way to work. We both pulled up at the stop light, waved at each other, rolled down our windows. She says "Do you love your car?" I said "I adore it" as someone behind us honked because the light had changed. I noticed she has the chrome taillight bezels, need to see if she has the front ones as well.

Then a few days ago, saw a MSG, first one I've seen in Bakersfield.

Then a TB was apparently for sale in our local dealership and a guy posted photos of him gifting it to his wife for their anniversary on one of the FB groups.

I make a twice-weekly run to Capitol Hill Kaiser. There's a faded red Bird that is usually parked on West Virginia Ave. NE just south of Florida Ave. NE at Gallaudet University. It looks like it could use a little love and TLC.

Seen two Thunderbirds in Michigan south bound 1-75 at 168 and 144 mile marker . A clear day to bring them out.
