You can fashion one of these from a fender washer. It is not necessary to have look exactly like the square original, it just has to fill the gap. Paint it Black, set it place with a good adhesive and you got it done.

Don't want this home made version there all the time then only put it in place when putting on the HT.

The passenger side is never missing, held in place by wiring for rear window defrost on HT.

      Easy fix!

That is a wonderful idea! I'm checking the hardtop tomorrow. The car won't be back from the body shop until a week from tomorrow (Labor Day). If that plastic part is missing, I'll hunt for it in the top well, and I'll get a fender washer if I can't find it. This is why I love this forum.

Earl, cleaning out all these items are sure to get you close to the big box of chrome hood scoops. Can't wait.

There are (as of the time and date of this post) four of these driver side hardtop spacers, part number 1W6Z-7560611-AA, (Ford calls it a "link") for sale on eBay at $25.50 each. This is a discontinued part by Ford and they have been hard to find. Type "thunderbird hardtop link" into the eBay search box and the listing should come up.

I ran across this eBay listing quite by accident and have no connection of any kind with the seller or the listing.

                          Hope this helps!

Anyone have a pic of this thing? I never knew about this, and I have a lot of rattling with the top on.
