Just had my door panels painted in Whisper White per many posts on TBN. Thank you for the idea!!
When we all took delivery of our new cars 15 years or so ago, many of us obsessed over why Ford did not match the interior of our Retrobirds to the Concept interior. At that time, I considered a metal dash kit for my car, but could never bring myself to do that, so I did nothing. Recently I saw photos of the original 55 TBird's black and white interior. I realized that with the addition of the door panel mod to my car, I would have a car that had a similar appearance to the original:
Both 1955 and 2003 cars have black seats with pleated white inserts, black and white door panels, and even a Thunderbird emblem in the middle of the dash (thanks again TBN for that idea.) The addition of the White shift knob, and White steering wheel insert add some white accents not seen on the original.
It took 15 years, but now I feel that my interior is "complete."
PS: They tell me that visiting days here are Saturday and Sunday
