  • Do I need to re-glue my convertible top?

From what I can see and feel, the canvas is NOT glue to the glass from the OUTSIDE all around (see pictures), but it is completely glued to the glass from the INSIDE all around. Does it look normal or do I need to glue the canvas to the glass all around from the OUTSIDE?

Sides and top are not glued on the outside. The bottom however, should be glued on the outside besides the inside.

If you partially open the top it will make more sense, glass is glued to back panel and then back panel is glued to the top but,NOT right by the window

I reglued ours on the bottom using Rhino Glue. I found it recommended on a few different convertible forums. Just be aware....Rhino Glue sticks fast (it's a form of superglue).

I tried gluing my corner with epoxy, etc. I ended up taking it to an upholstery shop when I found a strap that looks like a seat belt was not attached to one of the top braces that holds the window out against the rear of the top. They re glued the window corner with a urethane type glue (I assume it's a urethane like they use to hold windshields in place. Has held find but they did managed in the process that the rear of the top doesn't fit snug over the rear most crossmember. It may have stretched with time. At some point the window may have to be replaced as the canvas that it's attached to looks like it's starting to rot and has some tear spots.
