TBN BADGES

I'm curious. Found two round metal badges in a box of stuff that came with the car I just bought. It says Thunderbird Nest on a round base with the tbird wings logo on it.
What were these intended to be used for?

I think they were meant to be used as a gift for the first person who responds to your questions on the nest. They add unnecessary weight to your car and hinders performance.

Well that certainly seems reasonable, not realistic, but reasonable. They do appear to create a lot of drag so that would affect performance.

The bolt on back doesn't seem to be long enough to fit thru the egg crate in the grille.

Thanks Spence. Not sure if I will use these but this is good info in case I do. On first look, I though the bolts on the back were maybe too short.

I love the TBN grill badge that I installed on the grill of my TBird.. Perhaps the bolts on the one you have were changed out for another purpose? If you don't like the grill badge maybe gift it ...it was not cheap and I think they are attractive. Your call, but it would be a shame to let them waste away in a box.
