I purchased one from Thunderbird Concepts back in 2011 When I bought my PCR. It is identical to the Original. Very pleased with it and the quality.
I thought the Neiman Marcus was the only one from Ford chromed.

The Cashmere also had it. The Ford price for the Cashmere part was much lower than the NM part.

I noticed that the OEM chromed scoop that I bought has only the top edge (the thin band that is on top, flush with the hood surface chromed). Looking at pictures of scoops on other members cars, the “ribs” on the scoops appear to be chromed as well. Did you guys slip “chromed” door edge trim over the two ribs on the front of the “scoop?” It looks nice, more like the ‘55-‘57 scoops.

Yes Mike that is a way to do accomplish that 55-57 look. Doing it that way has worked for me & the pieces have held in place for years.

Mine was purchased from Thunderbird concepts just before he closed the doors. It is completely chrome and I masked the two ribs and painted the background flat Black.

                          That sounds like Ford OEM.

I think it was TBird concepts who offered your choice of black or chromed interior ribs in their replacement (not stick-on) scoops. I chose black so they'd look more functional.

Ted - I checked out the photos of your car, with the amazing custom grille treatment. Wow! That's so wonderful, I wish that the factory had done something like that in the first place. (I also wish that the owner's manual had been printed on higher quality paper, but what are you gonna do?) On your bronze bird I agree that all black below the chrome band up top looks amazing, and like a functional scoop, as you wrote. On my evening black car, I think I'll need the chromed ribs. Or not, I'll try it all black first. :-)
