  • SIRIUS sat radio question

Of course my 02 does not have any aux hook ups etc. Wondering if anyone would like to post pictures on what one of the SIRIUS units look like and how you mounted it in your bird. I have SIRIUS in my 14 Avalon and really enjoy it. Would like to have it in my 02 bird.

Hi....I just had the Sirius installed in my '04 Bird and it is working very well. The aftermarket component was installed by a local radio shop. Costing was $500 out the door. We put the antenna on the front edge of the dash a couple of inches to the right of the headlight electric eye. I don't know if the '02 has the option for an aftermarket Sirius....SS

I put sirius in my 2004 also. Cost me 350 for the parts and 30 mins of my time to install. I left my antenna inside the dash, on top of original radio, as I didn't want anything extra on the dash.

Here is a link to the "deal" that sirius is offering me. I'm just looking for info on how it is installed and what it will look like. Hence, I would like to see some pics of other sirius radio installations in our birds. I hope this link works. If not PM your email and I can forward the email I received from sirius.

I had my '04 sat installed by Ford when the car was new. They put the Sirius receiver outside the car on the passenger side black plastic molding at the bottom the windshield. It always looked like hell and still does but it works fine. Cost $500 at the time of installation in '04.

I put that very same unit in my '05 'Bird some years back.

A fairly easy install, as I already had a connector available I had used for an MP player. The antenna is on the dash at the center. A car stereo shop did the install. The unit itself is at the front end of the console, against the panel for heated seat switches (which I don't have).

However, I am less than satisfied with the unit itself. Due to its small size and simplicity, it's clumsy and non-intuitive to use, if you like switching among your favorite channels. I think better, more versatile models are available.
