Guy was trapped in his Cadillac XLR for 14 hours and he almost die........

I better go over the retro Bird owner's manual again to confirm again where the "EJECTION BUTTON" is in case of emergency.....but oh nooooo mine is a 2002 and NOT a 007 model....

We may have reached the point where we need to back off on all the tech.

I'll bet there are members of this forum that don't know how to get into the trunk with a dead battery. Fellow I bought my 05 from had it for 6 years and never knew how..

A few years ago I read a similar article regarding the Corvette in which someone got locked inside the car and didn't know there was a manual emergency release on the floor. Read your owners manual people.

I've had to break into Vettes at work when someone leaves the keys in the car and the battery runs low. Very easy.

I had an XLR - one of the first things I noticed - and wondered "hmmm - what is this" - was the lever beside the drivers seat. A quick look in the manual told me it was the emergency door release. Can't imagine anyone owning one of these cars and not wondering what that lever is for. It's like a "wet paint" sign - - you gotta touch it!

Is it true that he was really embarrassed because the top was down when it happened?

A coworker friend had a 7-Series BMW and stopped briefly to pick something up, and a fellow coworker decided to wait in the car. Out of force of habit, the BMW owner locked the car with the remote as he walked away. Turns out that the guy who waited in the car is extremely claustrophobic. Nobody knew until the story came out back at the office about how freaked out he was. Probably tells you how to get out in the manual in those cars as well.
