Got the tool but the nerve? Might have to wait 'til afternoon as I don't drink the liquid nerve stimulator in the morning. Pictures at 11:00.
All it takes is time Bill. I'd like to find a worn out or severely faded cover to take apart and use for a pattern and then make a cover out of leather, maybe two tone. I've never used eBay, I'll have to check that out.

Mitzi that is what I did to my original black cover. I had Bunny Lou take my cover and he redid it in a quality Vinyl two tone black/white combo with a 17" Thunderbird emblem in the center.

Ace, Bunny Lou moved a couple of years ago and stopped making any of his add ons.

My 2005 boot (and all 2003, 2004, 2005 boots) came folded from the factory with the strap securely holding the boot together(with room to spare on the strap). I still do it that way. The strap is long enough for them. The 2003-2005 boot folds accordion style.

The 02 boot is much stiffer and is best kept flat hanging in a garage but it will, sort of, fold in half with a rounded fold. Very bulky but fits the best of the two styles of boots.

Here's a few photos of the 2003-2005 boot folded. It fits in the cubby hole quite well with a little room to spare.

and the folded boot fits in the cubby hole with room to spare. I've also posted a photo of the sand boot in use that we also have for the 05 in the Photo Challenge thread with the latest challenge.

Dot thanks for posting those pics of how the boot came from the factory. That is exactly how my 05 came & it is still the way we fold & store it.
It now is 13 yrs. old & in very good shape & fullness, but because of our long sunny summers here in Eastern Washington it is out in the sun a lot, rarely off the car. The boot is beginning to fade slightly.
                Thanks again.

Mike, our boots rarely get used. Summer is way too hot, spring is short and stormy and this fall was either too hot or too wet. Think we only had the top down a couple of times so the boot stays folded up and is usually in the garage, not the car when we do put the top down.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR THESE PHOTOS! I JUST DIDN'T THINK ROLLING THESE COVERS WAS THE WAY THEY WERE INTENDED TO BE STORED.

You will really like the creases in your boot when you use this method.

When we put it on, the creases don't show. 2 of the folds are in the seamed area.

Learn something almost every day on this site. Thanks Dot. Never knew the boot was originally folded accordion style. Was rolled 10 years ago when we got the car and I have always done same. Have now properly folded the boot. Thanks again,

Ron,. The creases don't show. They really don't. My boot is stored folded early November to the end of March, have been doing it this way ever since car was new 13 years ago.

Other than sun fade the boot has remained in very good condition.
