Today might be the day to play with fitting the foam piece under the boot. Does anyone have a good suggestion for attaching foam rubber to the under side of the boot? Hey Ted you are the leather worker extraordinaire , thoughts?
Bill, if you haven't done it yet I would suggest WATER BASED contact cement. Or that black rubber cement used for auto weatherstripping. Also non-vinegar smelling RTV. Of course you want to use temporary tape until you get the look you want.
