What is the normal/off position for the map lights in the rear view mirror ?

I recently changed all my marker lights and tail lamps to leds. I notice my front marker lights stay on for a period of time after the car is off and headlights timed out. Normal ? Both front lamps were out since I got the car, so I don’t know if this is normal.

I am intermittently seeing a “lamp out” indication on my dash since these bulbs were changed. All bulbs light up and work fine. Is this possibly due to the led lights perhaps drawing different current ?

Different current. Correct.

If you do a search you will find a lot of the same lighting issues, and solutions.
Marker lights staying on for a while may also be due to low current LED's drawing residual power from some capacitors in the system.

Do you have the owner's manual for your car? It will show you the correct switch position for the map lights. I would share with you mine but 05 map lights are mounted in the windshield header trim not the mirror.

The soft glow of the side marker lights after being changed to LEDs is normal operation & nothing to be concerned about. The fix for this if it is a worry is to put the correct bulb that the lighting system was designed with back in it's place.
