  • 2004 Thunderbird emblems

Hi my son a car dealer recently picked up an 04 through the local Manheim auction. I’ve now been searching through many on line pictures and most cars seem to have the emblems but this one does not. Have they been removed during the last 14 years by previous owner or was debadging an option at purchase?

Welcome to TBN Scott. Looking at the photos in your other post I see "Thunderbird" is missing from the rear fenders and it looks like the "V8" is missing from the front fenders. Prior owner must have removed them because they would have been on the car from the factory.

Thanks for the welcome as well as the info. Not sure why they would have removed the emblems but it was their car and I guess they had their reasons.
My sons a car dealer, he picked this up to resell. It’s mine till he does.

But do not read into it that there was an accident/bodywork. I (and many others) have removed both from our cars as we like (IMHO) the cleaner look.

You'd also be surprised that after you remove them you will be asked "what is it"?

Some old history of these cars: "The cleaner look" is the common reason for no script on the rear fenders of some cars, but when the 2002 was new, the fender v8 was not on them and many owners had to prove to non-owners that the car had a V8 by lifting the hood. I don't recall that was a comment that 05 owners have had since they also don't have the v8 on the fenders. Meanwhile all the 03s and 04s had the v8 stuck on from the factory.
