  • OEM Interior Replacement Covers from Thunderbird Specialities

Good friend here in Sarasota ordered new “OEM Replacement Seat Covers” for her 2002 Thunderbird from Thunderbird Specialities (LA Phil???) OVER ONE YEAR AGO and had to pay for them up front. SHE HAS STILL NOT RECEIVED THEM and has been told to be patient and not to email them anymore! Is there any legal action she can take since their website says these new seat covers are “NOW AVAILABLE”!! Anybody else tried to order these from them and had a similar experience?

Yes, LAPhil. If your friend used a credit card, then there is probably recourse, although the time period of over a year may make it more difficult; I would think they're the first to contact. Failing that, I guess it depends how irritated your friend is, as to what action she will choose to pursue. A shame poor communications led to this.

Phil has simply disappeared. I think your friend is out of luck.

I was able to browse Phil's site thru Dot's Porthole Authority advertiser site. Do not know if an order could be placed and/or received.

LA Phil, you should make this right!

It is amazing to me how something like this goes to the negative, to the point of bulling & bashing without knowing both sides of the story. In- fact we who read any of this really know very little about any of it . It is a shame, a real disappointment.

I got a discount email for Halloween today from the company, so it must still be going. When I first got my car, I tried to call and get info on the hard tonneau covers, I never got a return call. Bad initial customer service is a interest killer for me.

I just checked his website. I suspect things are not going as well as he planned for the seat replacements as the first half of the seat cover replacement page says that ONLY the Driver's Side seat covers are available. I also don't know if he is the one who updates the pages or if he depends on someone else to update them.

I agree Mike. I've had good relations with Phil, but I'm not on any mailing list. We're running out of sources that's for sure.......

Perhaps someone with direct contact information will reach out to Phil. I have never heard of Phil failing to fulfill an order. Most complaints center around price. In my limited experience he treated me well.

Gene, I have always had a decent relationship with Phil but have objected to his pricing policies. (Especially when I know the prices of what I sold him and what he had them listed for sale).

Sure hope she gets taken care of. (Steve is this Tonya?) If this is Steve's friend that me and the Navigator have met, she loves her bird.

I emailed a question through his website yesterday. No reply thus far. Not a good sign. I hope that the problem works out for Steve’s friend.

Time to cancel order and payment (if not too late). If a check was sent and has not cleared your bank you can contact the bank to cancel payment. If a credit card was used you can also cancel payment if not cleared the account. If payment cleared the account, you can still contact your credit card issuer and report the transaction as fraud. Either way it is too late to wait on Phil.
