Correct. It all goes back to what Ron said, it is all governed by demand. Initially dealers order what they think customers will buy, but after a few months into a new color offering the individual customer orders tell the dealer what colors move off the lot and those are the colors they want in their inventory. The Inca never really got to be judged as the general public wasn't aware of the color until production had ended. Dot knows for sure but I think the Thunderbirds had dedicated paint booths for each color, So it was a major deal to add a new color as they had to discontinue another color.

I looked at the Random Useless Facts thread and see that the data tables got scrambled in the new version of TBN. Post #124 was one that would have shed light on the subject: http://www.thunderbirdnest.com/forum...717#post784717

EDIT: OK you IT guys, those scrambled tables like in the above link... Is that HTML? There must be a way to resuscitate those tables - convert from HTML to ASCII?

I think they just wanted to get rid of the barrel of Inca Gold paint that was sitting unused in the corner.

I may have copied those tables, Harry. I'll check thru my files and see if I can repost them or send them to you for you to post.

OK, I made screen prints of most if not all of them so those are in jpeg format. However, you should be able to convert them directly to ASCII but those are difficult/time consuming to get the columns looking right on here. There are a lot of tables that I copied. I can email them to Harry and IF he can edit his old posts, he can add the jpegs to them and delete the html versions that didn't post well in this new version.

Nothing I have can convert a jpeg to ASCII... if you have them you can post them. Or I can replace the scrambled versions in the original thread. Or still it seems to me that the HTML can be converted to ASCII by someone wiser than I...
