Damaged NKOK remote controlled Bird

Just bought a NKOK remote control car from a member. Grandson saw the box and was thrilled until we opened it and the back end was in at least a dozen pieces. Was packaged well so the USPS................

The question is at the size of 1:16 does anyone have any ideas for a replacement body that would fit with some mods. Car operates great but too many jagged edges for a 5 year old to safely play with! Thoughts?

Thanks Cheryl and Dino. The good news is the racing starts right after school today. Bad news is 5 year old is bringing his glue and we can put the yellow back together.
