Interesting 2002 Thunderbird for sale at local Lexus dealer

HAVE NO INTEREST OR CONNECTION TO THIS CAR

An interesting 2002 popped-up on local eBay Motors last week that seems worthy of sharing with our group.

Could have belonged to a member here.

Car seems very well maintained and has several modifications. It's been lowered and has double-DIN radio/GPS/back-up camera and chromed factory wheels among other upgrades. 40K miles on odometer. $15.5K asking price is not out of line.

Car is at a reputable local Lexus dealer so it likely was traded for a new Lexus. Car looks complete.

One item caught my eye. A pic of the interior shows a particular piece of trim added to the passenger-side dashboard. Don't know what it is but appears to be a logo of some kind. Club affiliation?

I don't know how to enlarge the photo to get a better shot of the "logo" but from what I can see it appears to be the emblem that was on a special edition of the 1997 Birds at the end of the run. I believe some of the members here have the emblem on their cars so might be able to confirm that from the design (or if they can enlarge the picture to get a better look).

with the wheels and traction control, it looks more like a premium model. only quickdraw can find that out.

You may be correct Spence, perhaps it was for the '97 Bird for the limited edition , or other year . ( will dig into my files ) .The '95 40th anniversary Thunderbird had a big ' 40 ' in the middle of the circle and " anniversary thunderbird " around the out side of the circle . The anniversary package contents were : -

-- lower silver or charcoal two-tone : Red highlight accent above the two-tone ; 40th anniversary embroidered floor mats ( opal gray or Mocha ) ; two tone exterior 40th anniversary cloisonné medallions on fenders ; 40th anniversary key fob ; 40th anniversary nomenclature placed in glove box for dealer install .

Actual production was only 2183 units .

But that is a Limited Edition fender badge off a 1997, the 40th are just like you described.
