The fluid is suppose to last perhaps 100k miles. I'll tell you a story about mine. I had a problem with shudder going into the higher gears. During diag. I thought it perhaps had to be some worn out servos on the side of the trans but since it happened in two gears I finally ruled it out. I also had a problem with the tranny whining in reverse when cold. At first I dropped the fluid and just added some fluid and it improved the shudder but not completely. I finally a few months later dropped the pan and replaced the filter and another round of fluid with a Lucas addiditve. That solved the reverse whine when cold and the shudder isn't really noticeable anymore. The fluid looked good when drained too. Perhaps someone replaced the fluid with the incorrect fluid at some point. I don't know. My tbird had 100k or so miles when I bought it. Draining and refilling only partially replaces the fluid. One could go to a shop that could "flush" it through the trans cooler line and theoretically replace more of the fluid but I'm not really a fan of those. Are you having any problems?

I have 150,000 on my car. I have had the trans flushed twice. Once at 80,000 miles and at 140,000 miles. Also had the filter replace/cleaned each time. No problems from new. They are Here. Scotty, beam me up!IT'S 5 O'CLOCK SOMEWHEREVisit the TBN Store

The car a 2005 has 70000 mi on it runs just great, the Matane book in the car shows nothing has ever been done.It suggests engine oil and filter change every 5k , trans filter& oil 30k.Both a little excessive to me! My 2011 fusion owners manual says drive the car until service lite comes on then time to change oil and filter. first time I did this, lite came on 9200 mi. after I reset it after the change.Transmission doesn't need service until its gone 100000 mi

Do what you like. I did my changes because of driving cars for the past 55 years. It's a preventive maintenance thing. It's up to you how you would like to take care of your car. They are Here. Scotty, beam me up!IT'S 5 O'CLOCK SOMEWHEREVisit the TBN Store
