Dang Guys didn't mean for this to a symposium on the plus or minuses of social networking but rather in the spirit of a Car site a help to those needing a place to get their parts info out to a community who would benefit from it. Don't want to use it, don't.

When I left Ford Motor Company twenty years ago I left friends from all over the country behind with no way to keep up with them. Since Facebook I have been able to reconnect with at least sixty or more great friends that I would never have seen or heard from again. Facebook is what you make it, as one of my friends from sixty years ago used to say, "don't start any trouble and there won't be any trouble". I recently lost two great friends from Ford, but I am friends with their sons and I feel the friendship goes on. I was afraid of Ebay, Paypal, email, TBN, and etc. but now it is all second nature to me.

Jane has excellent use of Facebook Marketplace..much better than VRBO or Home Away for her business. She's also gotten good bargains on that site....

I still have so many things I have to get for the '05, but I can only do so much each month (this month was getting the 5-yr ESP from Ford).
How are things going so far, good I hope. I almost feel like a Shadchan, regarding your new IG. And worse than that, responsible for its quality. Oy veh!

Things are going well...thanks for asking - you really did well as a Shadchan in this particularly case. The car runs really well, but then again it's only got 25,200 miles on it. Leather looks brand new.
Still don't have a means to remove the hardtop, but I do have an electronic hoist on order - it's supposed to be here early next week. The hoist I ordered from Top-hoist was a pulley system, but with an 8.5 foot garage ceiling, the pulleys make it "rest" in too low of a position. I'll install the electric hoist and then buy two slings to strap underneath it so there's a redundant system in place - don't want to lost the hardtop thru a mishap (really loved my old system but they don't make them anymore).

Can not understand for one minute why you would make that statement.

I guess if all your friends and relatives are close by there is no great use for Facebook, so don't use it. For some or us it is a great way to keep connected. Liz and I met a couple while waiting on the ferry from Seattle to Port Angeles. They had questions about the Thunderbird, they have since become friends and now own a Thunderbird. Without Facebook I am sure there is no way we would enjoy there friendship. The Thunderbirders we traveled with last fall will remember one day I had lunch in Washington with a friend from sixty years ago in high school, no way with out Facebook. Another day I had lunch in Arizona with a friend from college, had not seen since 1962, found him on Facebook. Remember, everyone does not have a Thunderbird and use TBN.
