I have used Battery minder for a long time. I have at least 6 of them running all the time. What I like about the battery minder is they have a built in desulfater. https://www.northerntool.com/shop/to...2201_200332201

Dang... forgot to attach one this winter! Know we have one from my hubby's old motorcycle he sold, just have dig it out and run an electrical cord. I imagine the trunk lid won't close completely once connected with the charger's cord hanging out. If I close the trunk lid enough but not to the point of locking the trunk... the light inside will turn off right?

HKS My battery was replaced with another vented battery but how do I make sure the compartment is vented? Remove the light bulb and keep the trunk lid open?

I have the cord come out the trunk and just close the lid . Have done it this way for many winters with no seal distortion in the spring .That is what a good soft trunk seal is for .

The Ford vented battery hose goes to the outside underside of the trunk. If it is not plugged it should be OK.

If your trunk seal has a distorted expression like this there is an issue........

Living here in up north Minnesota I need to keep three tenders on all winter. I have 3 Schumacher 1.5 amp battery minder/tenders. Two are on vehicles that are not garaged and the third is on my bird in the garage. All three are about 3 to 9 years old. Just went out and checked them all and they are all showing green which indicates the batteries are fully charged. In the last month we have had a low of -40 and highs in the 0 to 20 degree range. These chargers/minders cost about $25. I recommend them.
