I just got off the phone with Ken at the 'Ford Protect' main office (1-877-794-6434). According to him, there is no ESP available for any year T-bird, including the 05s. If you have specific information counter to this, please share the details. I hope he's wrong, but he assured me that he is not. :-/

This thread has some members commenting on getting extensions/new plans. I have no dog in this fight so I will not comment on your comments, I do hope that we get this resolved. I will comment that there numerous threads about the problems getting them to honor a warranty on a transmission that was replaced under the warranty. Fourteen pages of conversations and documentation was sent to their legal et al. The responses that I received from various departments at Ford were highly inaccurate I would go away. I do not trust much of what Ford personnel tell me.
Once again I hope we get resolution.

Just spoke with Emma at Lombard Ford and the finance guy at our local Fairway Ford. They should be checking and advising.Bill Coates-Canfield, Ohio

I just talked with Emma at Lombard Ford and the 2005 Thunderbirds are indeed able to be covered again. Maybe not like the kind Ford sold with a new car warranty at the start, a true bumper to bumper all parts included, but they do have some good coverage available for cars with mileage up to 120,000 miles covering 99 different parts that fail.sigpic

Hey all, this is Emma (mentioned above) We just sold a plan to a 2005 T-Bird 5 days ago...this was a renewal plan, he already had coverage and renewed it for likely the final time. We also got a new application this month for a vehicle not currently covered, we had his required inspection done, and he now has a Ford backed plan. The availability of parts to be used by this warranty, though, cannot be guaranteed by us, nor Ford, and this is something to consider. The warranty is supposed to use either new or Ford-remanufactured parts only, and this could be a potential problem with some parts. Our website is www.lombardfordwarrantys.com, if anyone has further questions or is possibly interested. Thanks Bill & Calvin!

Parts are a problem for us all but I believe you can find them. We have a thread on re-manufacturers of electronic parts that many folks have used.
Dave, I think the message is that mechanical and electronic parts while sometimes tough, they are obtainable. I thank you for your post also as it surely helped take ambiguity out of the 2005 warranty question. Keep looking David for that special Bird, we need members like you.

Going down to look at this 05 with 51799 miles on Friday. Made an offer on a PCR... but it didn't work out. :-( It still had the window sticker and all the goodies it came with. Both of them are beautiful cars. :-D Thanks Emma, and to all for jumping in to get this figured out. Great bunch of folks here, and I don't even have a T-bird (yet).Last edited by Mujiir; Feb 27, 2019, 06:13 PM.
