  • Some Very Sad News - Haines Shoe House - York, PA

This is directed at those TBN members who participated in the Hershey, PA and AACA Museum event in the Fall of 2015. During that event we visited the Haines Shoe House near York, PA. I selected it because of its unique nature (a house shaped like a shoe that you could live or vacation in) and because they serve great ice cream (for Ron). I have just learned that Melanie, the wife of the young couple that had just acquired it before our visit, has passed on. See attached news article. She was very excited about their plans for the house during our visit. She was also very happy that we chose the Haines house to visit, especially on a very rainy day, and was very accomodating. I have also attached a photo of our group in which she is included. Please keep Melanie's husband and family in your thoughts and prayers.

    Sorry to hear this.
I lived in York for 60 years and have visited the Shoe House. Just saw it from a distance when driving the by-pass.
They are Here. Scotty, beam me up!

That is such a shame. A beautiful young woman lost in the prime of her life. I will definitely pray for her family.

Very sad indeed, enjoyed the visit to the 'shoe house' and talking with Melanie about their plans for it. The story about the house and their wanting to preserve it, made it a special place .
It''s odd but was thinking about the shoe house the other day, will keep the family in our prayers.
