Today I spoke with Tony at Grundy for clarification of a few questions that I had. I find their advertisement ( quoted below) to be extremely misleading. This insurance is ONLY for “car event” driving according to Tony. My specific question was about what constituted “pleasure driving” in their estimation. I asked about taking the car on vacation for a few days, or to go sight seeing and the like. According to Tony, you are NOT covered, and that is NOT pleasure driving somehow. Even though to only reason to go on vacation is for pleasure. Please read Grundy's statement on vehicle usage taken verbatim from their site.
“How can I use my car?
Grundy wants you to enjoy your car. Not to keep track of mileage like other programs. Therefore, we give you unlimited miles for pleasure driving and in collector car activities. It is even OK to if occasionally you drove your collector car to work to show it off to friends. We require you and all licensed drivers to have a modern car for everyday use.
When you have your car at home, it must be kept in an enclosed, secure garage when not in use. If you are away from home on extended outings your car is fully protected if you must keep it outside, for example in a hotel parking lot. Grundy coverage includes Trip Interruption that reimburses your hotel and repair cost in the event of a break down, and we also reimburse for towing and labor charges up to $250. You can count on Grundy as you cruise.”
How is that not misleading? So, this is a warning to those that have gone with this 'coverage'. Be aware that what you read above is NOT what you are getting.
