Well... My new (to me) T-bird took second place in the April picture challenge. Not bad. The voting is closed, so I can post about it now. I really enjoyed participating in this photo contest. The other entries were all exelant, and I really love seeing how folks portray their birds in various settings. Congratulations to the # 1 photo that won 1st place. That was a great shot! I look forward to seeing more great pictures next month!

I am certainly no pro photographer, but it has been a hobby of mine over the years. It may have done better with the general pop voting if the tall grass wasn't in front of your subject, but I like the picture. It looks like you tried to get the tall grass in front to follow along with the lines of the car? Cool old brick building, and that is a beautiful car!

Dave, I really liked your picture. Medium Steel Blue is one of my favorite colors on these cars. The background building was interesting and the picture was in sharp focus with good lighting, both of which sre important to my enjoyment of a photo. My only criticism, and it's just a personal issue I have, is the two dimensional look we get when photographing the car directly from the side. A little angle adds depth and makes me more interested in the picture.
That said, never give up. Your photo did well coming in second to Dot's very interesting and unique mountain/snow shot. Just keep sending in pictures every month and I'm sure you will be winning very soon. Heck, i know of at least one photo that lost in one contest and won in a subsequent one. There is nothing in the rules that prevents resubmitting the same photo more than once.Last edited by 2K2BIRD; Apr 7, 2019, 02:53 PM.21 years, 174K miles, 48 States X 2 & DC, 9 Canadian provinces, 8 European countries, 3 Caribbean Islands, 3 Hawaiian Islands, 100+ National Park locations, 150+ T-bird events, 190+ retrobird diecasts/models, 13 TOTM pics & some very special friends...THANKS TBN !

Dave, just keep putting your pictures in. All will be in next year's calendar, whether big or small, just like this year's calendar.Limited Edition databases for 007 msg..#26 , PCR sticky, and Cashmere msg.#64

I actually did take a quarter on picture. But in this instance it didn't look as good to my eye because of the arches in the background and the lines of bricks that are in the road. They all seemed to draw my eye toward the car. My best photo technique has become to take 20 pictures, and delete 19. But I really do enjoy a photo contest, and I like taking pictures of our T-bird, so you will defiantly see more of her in the future. Thanks for the input and kind words. TBN rocks!

Dave, I take multiple photos, too, but I don't delete unless really out of focus or a slip of the finger at the wrong time. I have found over the years that some I didn't appreciate years ago, look much better with age.Limited Edition databases for 007 msg..#26 , PCR sticky, and Cashmere msg.#64
